We had a super visit to Community Cycleworks just over a week ago. We opened the session on the neighbouring BMX track under the guidance of BMXer Iona. Kitted out with helmets and bikes our Loopers showed that they’re ‘up for anything’ and took to the track for a few racing laps. From there we joined project founder Stewart Vanns to learn more about their Bike Fit Friday project that is funded by our WWMT grant with some great case studies to illustrate how young lives are positively impacted by the project. Being a Friday, we were also able to see the start of their bike fit session and meet some of the young people learning how to revive their bikes and, from there, benefit from the support of Stewart and his team.
As Andy Hayton said:
“I would certainly recommend a charity visit for any Le Loop rider. Seeing the work that supported charities like Community Cycleworks do is inspiring and when these stories are shared with supporters it really helps them understand what WWMT is all about”.
Huge thanks to those who managed to make it on the day despite busy personal lives. And special thanks to Rick for accompanying the group, and to Stewart and Iona for their welcome and time on the day. We’re looking forward to raising more funds on this year’s Tour to support brilliant projects like yours!
