We begin on the small, warm, seasidey island of Noirmoutier, off the coast of the Vendée. We’ll get to enjoy 110km of the most incredible Atlantic views, along with the delicate greenery of the Poitevin marshes, before turning inland towards Fontenay-le-Comte. It’s a fairly flat stage with non-stop views and photo opportunities. The main challenges will come from the distance and the stiff Atlantic breeze but with some perfect, newly laid tarmac to help us along, it shouldn’t be too tough.
