How to book
Due to the cancellation of Le Loop 2020 and Covid-19, we have changed the 2021 sign up process.
July – Sep 2020
(phase 1: guaranteed Loops)
PHASE 1 Registration
17th – 31st July: Register for Le Loop 2021 by filling out our online form. This is a commitment to ride but no payment will be taken at this stage.
1st August: We will be in touch with everyone who has filled out the form to confirm if they have been allocated a place (priority will go to cyclists who could not ride in 2020) or if they are on the waiting list.
PHASE 1 Payment
21st – 30th September: Payment links will be emailed and non-refundable deposits will be due by 30th September. (deposit discounts for 2020 cyclists will only be valid until 30th September).
Places available in phase 1:
60 Grand Loop Deposits (£500) to ride all 21 stages of the 2021 route
80 Guaranteed Loop Deposits (£250) to ride from 2 to 12 stages of the 2021 route
Please note that deposits are non-refundable under any circumstance because we need to use the income to start planning Le Loop. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of securing your place. For more information, please see the 2021 sign up terms and conditions.
Mid Oct 2020
(route and Loops announced)
- Mid October: A.S.O. (the official organisers of the Tour de France) announce the 2021 route with great pomp and ceremony.
- One week later: We publish our Loop options
- Anyone who has bought a Guaranteed Loop now chooses their Loop with availability guaranteed
- End October: All remaining Loop places on sale in phase 2
Please note those with Guaranteed Loop places are welcome to choose their loops after phase 2 sales have begun but availability cannot be guaranteed.
Late Oct 2020
(phase 2: remaining places for sale)
End October: Phase 2 of Le Loop sales opens with 60 additional places released.
If you prefer to know the route before you commit, you will need to wait until now, however…
Please note we cannot guarantee availability on every Loop as all places may already have been allocated to those riders who bought a ‘Guaranteed Loop’.
Costs & Fundraising Commitment
Cyclists pay their own tour costs to Le Loop and agree to raise a minimum sponsorship for the William Wates Memorial Trust (paid directly to the Trust).
The basic cost for a Loop is £165 per night which covers food, accommodation, transport on tour and a small admin fee. Please note that specific logistics can mean small supplements which will always be listed in the booking notes (eg. TGV transfers or particularly nice hotels).
Exact details are available on The Loops page so this table is as a guide only to give you an idea of how it works:
|Stages Ridden||Overnights||Cost to Cyclist||Minimum Sponsorship|
|10 (including 1 rest day)||12||£1980||£1500|
|21 (including 2 rest days and a Paris supplement)||24||£4060||£3000|
Sign up will be online on a first come, first served basis. A £250, non-refundable deposit (£500 for Grand Loopers) will be paid at time of sign up. The remainder of the tour cost will be payable in two instalments in January and March. For further information on payment, please see our Terms and Conditions.
