From time to time our riders champion WWMT to wider organisations who pledge to help. Often it’s made possible by their involvement on a company board, or sometimes on a charity event or sportive. It’s an incredible way to both boost your fundraising goals but also to establish a legacy long after your ride.
We’d like to give a very warm welcome to our latest supporter, independent West Country house builder Devonshire Homes! Specialising in creating high-quality new homes across Devon and Cornwall, Devonshire Homes has nominated the William Wates Memorial Trust as its Charity of the Year.
This will mean that Devonshire Homes will donate a fantastic £50 to the Trust for every open-market sale in 2020. The house builder’s keen cyclists have also pledged to take part in Le Loop 2020! Andy Rance, of the Livewire Youth Music Project in Saltash, joined Rick Wates (WWMT Trustee) at Devonshire Homes to meet the team and discuss ways in which the house builder can support the William Wates Memorial Trust throughout the year.
“Many thanks to the team at Devonshire Homes for making WWMT their charity of the year. It is great to see a company so committed to giving back to their community. It was a pleasure to meet the team and we look forward to a very successful partnership with them.” – Rick Wates
Jane Pearce, Acting Joint Managing Director of Devonshire Homes, is looking forward to the year ahead:
“We’re delighted to announce that we have chosen the William Wates Memorial Trust as our Charity of the Year 2020” said Jane. “As a local, independent house builder, we invest heavily in the communities that we build in. It’s important to us that we can give something back and we’re excited to be able to support local charities and community groups through the Trust. Our keen cyclists are already in training for Le Loop and are looking forward to taking on the challenge!”
Devonshire Homes is based in Tiverton, Devon, and has built over 1,500 new homes and created over 30 new communities since its launch in 1992. Current developments include: Tarka View, Crediton; Ladywell Meadows, Chulmleigh; Longston Cross, Bovey Tracey; and Gwallon Keas, St. Austell.
